  • WEC 43 Shocker: Semerzier Submits Fabiano

  • Posted on October 13, 2009

Mackens Semerzier surprised Wagnney Fabiano, Sherdog.com’s No. 3-ranked featherweight in the world, and the MMA world when he submitted the Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt with a first-round triangle choke at WEC 43 “Cerrone vs. Henderson” Saturday at the AT&T Center in San Antonio.

The undercard bout, which will surely affect the tight contender’s race in the promotion’s 145-pound division, was televised later during the WEC’s broadcast on the Versus Network.

Semerzier was making his WEC debut. Cornered by former WEC bantamweight champion Miguel Torres, he looked on the road to becoming another one of Fabiano’s victims, as the former IFL champion finessed Semerzier to his back and hopped to half-guard early.

A very special thank you to Mack for representing Heroes of War & 757 Apparel and also spending time with his fans and snapping some photos.

  • Heroes of War Supports The Gregory R. Wright, Jr. Virginia Military Institute Scholarship Fund

  • Posted on October 25, 2008

The Gregory R. Wright, Jr. VMI Scholarship Fund is a non-profit organization established to provide the gift of education to outstanding youths who, like Greg, wish to serve their country in times of Peace and War.

On December 7, 2005 Gregory R. Wright Jr. was killed in action during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Many of us immediately recognized that because of Greg’s extraordinary, giving and gifted spirit we needed to take action to keep his memory alive. A VMI Memorial Scholarship Fund was formed by his family and friends to honor Greg’s memory and the life he gave in defense of our great country.

This Memorial Fund’s purpose is to award an annual merit-based scholarship to an eligible recipient who best exemplifies Greg’s enthusiasm for life and devotion to Country. A portion of proceeds from purchases of Heroes of War merchandise go to The Gregory R. Wright, Jr. Virginia Military Institute Scholarship Fund.

  • A Long Walk with Rory Fanning In Aid of the Pat Tillman Foundation

  • Posted on October 14, 2008

757 Heroes Of War is on a mission to help Rory Fanning raise money for the Pat Tillman Foundation (www.pattillmanfoundation.org). Rory is on a quest to walk across the country in honor of Pat. By taking action and embarking on this tremendous journey, Rory exemplifies the type of leadership upon which the foundation is based and truly reflects how Pat Tillman lived his life. Rory started his quest right here in Virginia Beach, VA. You can see his current location and view his route at www.walkforpat.org.

757 Heroes Of War is a clothing line that was started by Special Ops Veterans who saw a need to honor the men and women in the armed forces who have served our country during a time of war and peace. Our company will be taking portions of our proceeds from the sales of our clothing and each year will be donating to charitable military organizations across the country including the Pat Tillman Foundation.

David Savino Co-founder of 757 Heroes Of War has accepted the challenge not just to raise funds for Rory but to join him for several days and nights in honor of Pat. David is in need of your support and is looking for generous contributions to make this possible. Your tax deductible contribution will go towards the Pat Tillman Foundation and also help David with travel and minor daily expenses.

The Pat Tillman Foundation was created by Pat’s family and friends, following his death in April 2004. As a 501©(3)tax exempt organization, the foundation’s goal and mission is to carry forward Pat’s legacy by inspiring people to make positive changes in themselves and in the world around them. The foundation supports the following flagship proram in Arizona, where he excelled as a student-athlete at Arizona State University and as a fan favorite with the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals.
